Swayambhunath:
One of the world’s most glorious, ancient, enigmatic and the holiest of Buddhist Chaityas, dating back more than 2000 years. Situated on a hillock Swayambhunath, literally “the Self-Created or Existent”, is a mosaic of small stupas and pagoda temple contributed over time by the succession of kings and noblemen. The main structure of the stupa is made of a solid hemisphere of brick and clay, supporting a lofty conical spire and capped by pinnacle of copper gilt. Painted on the four sides on the base of the spire are the “All Seeing Eyes” of Lord Buddha. The main features of Swayambhunath in brief are “The Five Buddhas.

Bouddhanth:

This colossal and ancient Stupa, one of Nepal's most unique monument and said to be the world biggest, attracts Nepalese pilgrimage of Tibetan stock from as far as Dolpo and Mugu as well as Tibet, Ladhak in India and Bhutan. Baudhanath Stupa with all seeing eyes of primordial Adi Buddha on all the four sides of the stupa is said to hold the remains of Kasyapa - the Buddha of the previous time.The Stupa 100 meters in diameter, built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels by the Lichchivi King Mana Deva in the fifth century rises to 36 meters above the base including the spire, "all seeing eyes" and the pinnacle represent the stages of enlightenment, symbol of royalty, compassion, knowing and nirvana. There are many myths about the origins of the stupa. Will have lunch here after the sightseeing (around 1330hrs).

Guheshwari:

The short drive from Bouddha will take you this place said that when Sati, the consort of Siva, immolated herself due to her father's insult, Siva stricken with grief, wandered the skies with her corpse as pieces of her body fell to earth thus creating 51 sacred sites. Her private parts fell here thus the name "Guheshwari".




Pashupatinath
:

Just a small walk takes you the temple of lord Siva-Pasupatinath with two tiered golden roof and silver doors is famous for its superb Newari architecture situated near the banks of sacred Bagmati River. Entrance to the temple precinct is permitted to the "Hindus Only", however visitors can clearly see the temple from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. Pashupati, literally, "Lord of the Animals" is the patron deity of Nepal and believed to have been unearthed by an obscure herdsman while one of his cattle was showering the earth with milk. Across the sacred river, above the array of decorated monuments is the "Slasmantak or Mrigasthali Ban (forest)" where legends have it that Lord Siva dwelled in a form of an antelop to evade the hordes of demigods.


Kathmandu Durbar Squre

There are innumerable monuments such as Kumari, the living Goddess, the ferocious Kal Bhairav, the red monkey god, hundreds of erotic carvings, among others. Visitors can also see a round temple in the pagoda architectural style, the Goddess Taleju and image of Shiva and Parvati peering outside through the window besides among many other monuments. It is believed that the Goddess Taleju used to play dice with King Jaya Prakash Malla.

The buildings at the Kathmandu Durbar Square were constructed during the time of Malla period. The exceptionally attractive woodcarvings, statues and architecture lure the visitors

Budhanil Kantha
Budhanilkantha is a famous Hindu pilgrimage site. The main statue of Lord Vishnu is seen reclining on a bed of snake on a pond. The stone sculpture dates back to the fifth century. The site is eight kilometers north of the downtown Kathmandu. The Shivapuri hill is in front of the pilgrimage site.



Balaju Water Garden

Situated about 5 km north west of akthmandu, Balaju Garden Features fountains with 22 crocodile-headed water spouts dating from eighteenth century. There is also a large swimming pool inside the park.




Guheswari Temple
A temple of Lord Shiva was built in 879 A. D. However, the present temple was built by King Bhupatindra Malla in 1697. The pagoda-style construction is decorated with a gold-plated roof, silver doors, and woodcarvings of the finest quality. There lies the temple of Guheshwari that represents the female force. The temple is dedicated to Satidevi, Lord Shiva's first wife, who abandoned her life in the flames of her father's fire ritual.

Dakshinkali
The temple of dakshinkali is situated about two km of shejkha Narayan. Dakshinkali is regarded as one of most important Hindu goddesses. Pilgrims visit this temple to offer their prayers and animal sacrifices are made to the goddess. this place is also a popular picnic place.


Gokarna

Gokarna is a Hindu pilgrim center. The Mahabaleshwar Temple at Gokarna is considered to be almost of equal importance as Vishanath Temple of Varanasi. Gokarna is a celebrated pilgrimage center on the cost of Karnataka, enshrining the Aatma Lingam Mahabaleshwar. It is regarded as one of the 7 Mutki Stalas of karanataka. It is also regarded as Dakshina Kashi.
